Tumultes was inspired by two novels: Adania Shibli’s Minor Detail (2017) and Antoine Wauters’s Mahmoud ou la montée des eaux (2021).

Tumultes was realized in 2024 at the composer’s studio in Montréal (Québec) and at PRIM’s studio in Montréal. It was premiered on October 17, 2024 as part of the Akousma 20 festival presented at Usine C in Montréal. Thanks to PRIM’s Programme Recherche et exploration and to the Canada Council for the Arts (CCA).
