Altitudes has been performed in Bogotá, Braine-le-Comte, Brussels, Ghent, Kraków, Montpellier, Montréal, Paris and Prizren…

Here, all sounds come from ski resorts in Saint-Lary-Soulan, Val Louron and Piau Engaly, in the Aure Valley (Hautes-Pyrénées, France). Altitudes is about elevation. It also questions our desire for nature, the pollution caused by tourism, and our urge to escape to the great outdoors, caught as we are in the grip of a meaningless economic system.

Altitudes was realized in 2024 at the Métamorphoses d’Orphée studio of Musiques & Recherches in Ohain (Belgium) and premiered on December 18, 2024, during Fondation Annette Vande Gorne — Concert 2 at Le Senghor in Brussels (Belgium). Altitudes was composed with support from the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles — Service des musiques. This piece is part of a vast soundscape project about the Aure Valley called Aure sonore, led by the Maison des arts sonores (Montpellier, France). Altitudes was revised in 2025 at Métamorphoses d’Orphée.
