Dongs, klangs, bangs, clinks, squeaks and tinkles: this piece explores the timbre of four objects that are fundamental in shaping the French Pyrenean soundscape. They are often heard as part of an occasional foreground of the place, appearing, singing then fading away. But once a year, during the transhumance, they create beautiful and very rich harmonies and rhythms, and they become the actual fingerprints of the mountain…

Sonnation II was realized in 2011 at the Electroacoustic Music Studios of the University of Birmingham (England, UK) and premiered on November 19, 2011, as part of the Waves concert series produced by BEAST at the CBSO Centre in Birmingham (England, UK).
