In this work I let the Sea speak — The shallow and the deep. The calm and the violent. Womb and burialground. The way the fish hear it, and the seafowl, and the rocks. The outer skerries far beyond the net of phones and broadcasts. Out here there is no sound of man. Man? We journey from dawn to dusk through a suite of moments and movements. The piece was produced in my private studio and at EMS during april-november 1997. The voice belongs to Helena Bostrom. The lyrics have been taken from August Strindberg’s poem Vågorna sjunga (The waves sing).
