To Gabriel and Diane
The Eden that we all yearn for is perhaps our childhood, which little by little we must mourn as we become adults. It is no doubt this nostalgia that explains our need to perform our works for the public, to go to concerts, to circuses, to read books, and to do all of the other things that we do to escape the fact of our mortality.
