  • Música Viva — Concurso Internacional de Composição Electroacústica, Parede (Portugal): 2005

Suk-Jun Kim’ music has received prizes and mentions at several international competitions: Métamorphoses (Belgium), ASCAP/SEAMUS Student Commission Competition, International Competition of Electroacoustic Music and Sonic Arts (Bourges, France), Musica Viva (Lisbon, Portugal), and Musica Nova (Prague, Czech Republic). His recent commissions include one from the 2006 World Cup, two from IMEB, on from SpACE-Net (UK), and the QUB Silver Collection Soundscape Commission (Belfast, Northern Ireland, UK). Recent residencies have come from IMEB (France), Atlantic Center for the Arts (ACA, Florida, USA), and Visby International Centre for Composers (VICC, Sweden). Suk-Jun Kim’s music has been performed worldwide and was released on on ICMC, IMEB, SEAMUS, and M&R labels.

Suk-Jun Kim studied theology at Yonsei University (South Korea) and Recording Engineering at OIART (Ontario Institute of Audio and Recording Technology). He earned a master’s degree in Music Technology and a certificate in Art and Technology at Northwestern University (USA). Suk-Jun Kim is a doctoral fellow at the University of Florida (USA), sharing his life with Sungeun Kim, his wife, and Mei and Ami, two most beloved cats.
