Bertrand Dubedout, composer, born in 1958 in Bayonne, pursued higher musical studies first at the University of Pau with Guy Maneveau and Marie-Françoise Lacaze, then at the Paris Conservatoire, where he was in the department of electroacoustic composition and musical research under Pierre Schaeffer and Guy Reibel, receiving his Prize in Composition in 1981. Concurrently, he studied musicology at the University of Paris VIII and at the Center of Polyphonic Studies in Paris. Currently professor of electro-acoustic music at the Toulouse Conservatory, he is artistic co-director of éOle (studio and production centre in Odyssud-Blagnac) and the Novelum festival. He founded the ByPass Forum in 2015.
In 1997, SACEM awarded Bertrand Dubedout its Claude Arrieu Prize. In 1999, he was composer-in-residence at the Villa Kujoyama in Kyoto (Japan). His works belong to the instumental and vocal field, as well as to the electroacoustic and mixed ones. His instrumental and vocal works are published by Gérard Billaudot Éditeur, Paris. Several CDs of his music have been released by L’empreinte digitale, MFA — Radio France, Motus, Métamkine, Skarbo, Bis, and éOle Records.
