Rocío Cano Valiño (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1991) is a composer and interior designer. She is currently pursuing her studies in electroacoustic composition with Stéphane Borrel at the CRR de Lyon, France. Her pieces have been awarded with the Audience Prize at the Luigi Russolo Award 2014 (FR), the Third Prize at TRIMARG (ARG), the Rampazzi Prize at the Associazione di Informatica Musicale Italiana (IT), the Banc d’essai 2018 at GRM (FR), the Exhibitronic Prize (2018) and a Mention at Métamorphoses 2018 (BE). She has received a commission from the Festival Bahía[in]sonora 2015 (ARG). Her compositions have been selected and performed in several festivals around the world. In 2018, she attended the “La musique des sons fixés” course given by Michel Chion; the “Geste et espace” course given by Jean-François Minjard, Jean-Marc Duchenne, and Jean-Jacques Girardot; the interpretation training in Motus’ acousmonium with Futura team: Jonathan Prager, Olivier Lamarche, Tomonari Higaki, and Nathanaëlle Raboisson; and the analog studio composition course given by Annette Vande Gorne. In 2017, the label Resterecords published her first monographic album, Tâches. Some of her works are published by Monochrome Vision, Taukay Edizioni Musicali and Phas.e Platform.
